Choosing by what matters most to you

Staying on after you graduate

Canada, Australia and New Zealand pair a post-study work visa with a route to permanent residence: work experience gained in Canada counts toward Express Entry, Australian graduates can move on to skilled migration, and New Zealand's Post-Study Work Visa can lead to a resident visa.

Keeping costs down

Many public universities in Germany charge little or no tuition, with semester fees to pay; the main costs are living expenses and the blocked account most students use to show funds for the visa. Elsewhere, tuition and city living costs vary widely, so compare whole-degree budgets rather than yearly fees.

Finishing sooner

Master's degrees in the UK and Ireland often take one year rather than two, which lowers the total cost. Check how the shorter course affects the post-study visa you can get afterwards.
